Boss Tests Outs His Company's Bulletproof Vest By Taking A Bullet

If you're out there creating a product or service, it stands to reason you should be happy to put your faith in it; like when you see Tim Cook wearing an Apple Watch, it just makes sense, right?

However, one Ukrainian CEO has taken this principle to the extreme, opting to have someone shoot him to test the effectiveness of his company's bulletproof vests.

The head of the military equipment company Ukrainian Armor made the very bold decision to show off the capabilities of his firm's vests by taking one to the chest from a Kalashnikov AKM rifle - and not only doing that, but doing it with a smile on his face.

Vyacheslav Nalyvaiko, stood in a snow-covered field and let a marksman shoot rounds at him from about 10 metres (33 feet) away - protected by one his company's vests.

After taking the hit, he pulls the plate out from the vest and shows off the mark made from the high-power rifle.

On the company's Facebook page, he wrote: "If you make bulletproof vests you have to be sure you're doing it properly." Fair point, well made.

Nalyvaiko said that the vest's ballistic plate was made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) instead of steel, providing an extra level of protection.

The material is designed to absorb the majority of the bullet's kinetic energy, enabling the vest's owner stay on their feet and avoid being hurt by the force of the shot. So now you know.

The Ukrainian Armor company, located in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine, was launched during Ukraine's Euromaidan Revolution in 2014.

According to the company's website: "Our mission - is to create qualitative, durable, safe and reliable equipment for each customer. Every day we prove that our mission is possible by deed. Words could not protect your life. They can't stop bullets that go through Ukrainian soldiers, nor shield policemen's that arrests armed criminal, they cannot guarantee safety of a dog that helps frontier guards.
