The woman who was filmed 'having her drink spiked' in a now-viral video has spoken out about what happened after the clip was filmed.

In the short video the woman can be seen dancing around with a friend, she has her phone in one hand and her drink in the other. As she continues to dance, the cup she's holding tilts back, and in a split-second a man can be seen dropping something into the drink.

The footage was shared online by Twitter user Jaeda Sky with the caption: "I'll never understand how a dude can be so wack with no game and feel the need to be such a disgusting predator. Ladies watch your drinks! Watch her cup."

The original post has been retweeted almost 100,000 times and has had over 2,000 comments, many from people thanking Jaeda for sharing the clip to warn others. Others claimed the clip was faked.

Now a woman claiming to be the one in the video has spoken out about the incident.

Kristal Santos says the incident happened at a party in Espcarpas do Lago, Brazil; she took to social media to tell those who commented that she hadn't drank anything from the cup after the man dropped something in it, because the drink had already been finished.

In the post, which was written in Portuguese, she said: "I thank everyone from my heart for the messages of concern! I like parties, I like to drink (sometimes even more).

"Once again I will explain here to those who are still worried... I did not drink anything from that cup because it was at the end of the party and the glass was already empty.

"Nothing happened to me. Yes, I'm glad the video is resonating in a positive way, as an alert for everyone to take more care of their glasses, including me.

"I bet just like my mother, the mother of everyone, has warned a thousand times to take care of their glasses, I thought she exaggerated!

"But it's no exaggeration, because we always think that with us it will never happen. But the truth is it can happen anytime and anywhere."

Her post has been liked almost 2,000 and has been flooded with messages from people praising the woman for raising awareness of the potential dangers of not keeping a close eye on your drink when out.
