Woman Horrified After Finding Out Sofa She Sold For £350 Is Worth £14,000

Jules Schreiner flogged the sofa on Facebook Marketplace and thought she'd done a good deal until she saw a similar piece

A woman was left horrified at finding out the sofa she had flogged for £350 could potentially be worth a bit more. By a bit more we mean thousands more:

Jules Schreiner took to TikTok to share the moment she realised she could have been in with getting much more for the piece of furniture.

Jules, who is from Carpentersville, Illinois (yes that is a real place), had got the sofa free and decided to try and sell it on.

With hindsight it's quite unsurprising someone bought the sofa from Jules within 'seconds'.

Later she saw the savvy buyer had posted about it on Instagram and described it as a 'Vladimir Kagan' design. Curious as to why he would specifically angle it on the designer, Jules took to Google.

Searching the iconic name (iconic in the designer world, of course), Jules couldn't believe the numbers she was greeted with - such as $20,000 (£14,000).

And that was the moment she knew... she f***ed up.

In the caption of her clip, Jules wrote: "Thought I had got a great deal on FB market place but ya know things are always too good to be true."

Writing on the video, she said: "Sold a free couch I got & put it on FB marketplace for $500.

"A guy picked it up & bought it within seconds. Saw him post the brand on insta. *looks up the brand on google*."

She then wrote: "Its a $20k+ couch... USED."

The clip has now been watched nearly 94,000 times with people feeling her pain.

One pointed out: "Imagine the person who gave 20 bags away for free though."

Another argued: "It's very clearly not the same couch, it's also old and discoloured. Being the same brand does NOT make it the same value."

A third wrote: "In fairness you all won from this. The person got rid of their couch for free. You made $500 and the last guy got a bargain. Win win win."

Can we get a dose of their optimism, please?
