Parents were furious.

A wannabe 'good Samaritan' caused outrage when he mocked up a scene of a dead schoolgirl.

Tim Pppppppppprice (he changed his name by deed poll) sent the following image to local page 'Spotted, New Parks and surrounding areas'.

It reads: 'Please post ASAP urgent thank you. It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that this morning a little girl was involved in an RTA outside a Leics school,

"According to witnesses she was dropped off by her father outside the school gates. Seconds later she mentioned she had forgotten her lunch box.

"Apparently she rushed out of the school hoping to catch her dad in time. She walked straight into the path of a car. It is understood the driver (a mother of a child at the same school) had no chance of stopping in time and was not to blame. Her visibility had been obscured by vehicles stopping on the yellow zig zag lines. The child was declared unresponsive at 0918 this morning."

The picture of the 'girl' (a doll) clearly upset a lot of people who were under the impression that it was a real-life dead child.

Mr Pppppppppprice told the Leicester Mercury: "I knew there had been lots of parents parking outside Inglehurst Junior on zigzag lines and causing problems and the thought of a child being knocked over there was really distressing to me.

"I thought the only way to make people sit up and take notice, and think twice about ever doing that again, was to create something with shock value, so that's what I did.

"I took a mannequin and laid the coat over it on Sunday morning and took some photos. I was shaking on Tuesday when I posted the picture because I anticipated the impact it would have. I knew it had major shock value and it could worry parents and anger them. But if it helps to save a life, then I won't have any regrets. That is the aim of it, although of course I'm sorry that it has distressed people.

Clearly, this bloke's heart was in the right place but, yikes, what a way to piss off parents...

Some supported his actions:

Others weren't so keen...
