Job-Seeker Realises She's Been Sending Out Her CV With The Wrong Name On

As mistakes go, it's a pretty basic one to make

A man says trying to do a small favour for his job-hunting girlfriend ended up going badly wrong after a mistake meant she's been sending her CV out to prospective employers with the wrong name on for three months.

And not just a simple typo, her CV proudly displays her name as Princess Banana Hamm.

That's probably why your job search hasn't been fruitful, hun.

Posting on Reddit, the woman's boyfriend shared the circumstances about how his partner's real name came to be wiped off her resume and replaced with the unusual moniker.

He wrote: "This happened three months ago and we finally realised what happened today.

"One day while my girlfriend was at work, she asked me to go on her computer which was open at home.

"All I had to do was re-save her resume in a new file titled 'gf's resume'.

"Simple right? Wrong... Whilst saving said resume, her computer thought it would be funny to change the name header back to the profile user name.

"PRINCESS BANANA HAMMOCK, which was then shortened to Princess Banana Hamm due to spacing.

"Neither of us noticed.

"Fast forward to today, she goes to update her resume to apply for a new job and there it was.

"The bane of her existence. We both immediately realised why she hasn't been getting called back for any interviews."

Yep, that'll do it.

The unfortunate Reddit user went on to say that, as you can imagine, his other-half was not too happy with him after spotting the mistake and that he's been banned from doing anything on her computer ever again. Probably for the best, eh?

However, some Reddit users pointed out the man's partner wasn't entirely blame free - three months is a long time to go as a job seeker without checking your CV after all.

One person wrote: "Honestly, at a certain point it became her fault for not double checking her resume each time she submitted it.

"This is called not having an 'attention to detail'."

Another wrote: "Seriously, you went to do a solid favour and a slight oversight might have turned into a costly mistake.

"Trust me, worse things will happen... and this will not seem like such a big deal after a little time passes.

"You will laugh about it in time."

Here's hoping she sees the funny side soon.
