Man Leaves 'Very British' Note To Person Sleeping With His Wife

A man left a note for another bloke who he discovered was 'doing the dirty' with his wife, and it's the most British thing you'll ever see.

Before we crack on, it's worth remembering that the note was shared on Reddit, so we can't be exactly sure of whether it's real or not, but it's still funny, so let's take a look anyway, shall we?

The 'very British' note appears to have been left at the house of a neighbour who the man discovered was having an affair with his wife, and the very passive-aggressive note states that whilst the woman is married, the husband wouldn't mind him 'popping over for a brew' and even promises to 'move his car' for him.

Obviously, it's unclear where the note came from, who posted it, or when the alleged infidelity took place.

The note reads: "Hey, just wanted to let you know that you're sleeping with someone who's married and we're not in an open relationship so you shouldn't really be doing the dirty with her.

"I appreciate things can get lonely so don't mind you popping over for a brew temporarily whilst I'm out but in the future could you give me a heads up so I can move my car for you please."

The note was simply signed off: "Cheers, no 86".

The supposedly spurned husband posted the note onto Reddit with the caption: "Came home to my partner in bed with someone else! Pretty sure I struck the right tone?"

Since it was shared, the post has received more than 600 comments, with many people praising the man's 'passive aggressive' tone and joking about the friendly and light-hearted nature of the note.

One person commented: "That "Hey" is a bit confrontational. Dial it back a little."

Another person said: "I'm British and I cannot work out whether this is Olympic level sarcasm or if I have missed something."

They continued: "Where was this note left?"

We might never know, and we may never know whether or not the message itself is actually genuine, but we can only hope.

If it is, this man must be admired for his ability to laugh at what is presumably a very tough time for him, as well as for his ability to construct a jocular and well-meaning note to someone who he probably has quite a few reasons to punch in the mouth.

Still, it's perhaps a bit of a pyrrhic victory for the guy, given that he's just found out his wife has been cheating on him.
