Mum's Shower Hack For Sons Goes Viral For All The Wrong Reasons

Mum's Shower Hack For Sons Goes Viral For All The Wrong Reasons

Well, this didn't go as she thought it would...

A mum caused a bit of stir after she shared an easy hack on how to keep phones safe while using the shower.

The mum decided to offer up some advice for anyone who had teenagers who 'always take their phones into the shower with them', and was left to worry about the devices breaking.

She suggested buying a cheap car phone holder, which she then glued to the wall - essentially a sort of hands-free kit, but stuck to the wall of the bathroom.

Posting in the Facebook group Cool Kmart Hacks & Styling Ideas, she wrote: "My teenage boys would ALWAYS take their phones into the shower with them. No matter how many times I told them not to!

"I was forever telling them they were going to drop it and I wasn't getting them a new one.

"Until I came up with fab idea. Went to my favourite shop and got some car phone holders. Yep, that did the trick."

But commenters were less impressed with her 'hack' and more intrigued about why her teenage sons would need to take their phones in the shower with them.

One person replied: "Have you questioned why they need to take their phones in the shower?"

While someone else wrote: "Easy way to take nudes, thanks mum."

Another mum chipped in: "We all in my house take our phones in I listen to music my teenage son well give you three guesses."

These people all have minds in the gutter...

The original poster then popped back up to shoot down the negative comments, writing: "I didn't put this up for backlash and not all kids do that. Gee."

Not all hacks shared online are so controversial - earlier this year, a woman from Northumbria was hailed as a 'genius' after she showed off her own, slightly bizarre, way to eat duck pancakes.

In a clip shared on TikTok, Sabrina Corrin Moore could be seen loading up a fork with duck, celery and hoisin, before holding up the pancake in front of her face and pushing it into her mouth with the meaty cutlery.

Explaining the methodology, she says: "I don't eat duck and pancakes the same way as everybody else does while they're at home.

"I put a bit of everything on the fork, dip it in the sauce, hold the pancake over your face and just push it all straight in."

Sounds good to me.
