This woman has revealed how she gave birth to her first child with 20 medical students in the same room as her. Watch her recount her story in the clip below:

Jessica Enslow claims that she didn't give permission for the extra people to be in the room, but felt unable to speak up and say anything as she feared that her husband might get in trouble.

Reflecting on the birth - which she dubbed 'disturbing' - Jessica explained to her TikTok followers that her first child was born in a military hospital.

The mum-of-seven captioned the clip: "Hopefully, military hospital policies and bedside manner have improved since 1994."

She went on to write on the video: "Military hospital brought in 20 med students to watch me give birth to my first child without asking me."

Before adding: "AND I DIDN'T SAY ANYTING BC I THOUGHT MY HUSBAND WOULD GET IN TROUBLE [sic]."

It seems Jessica isn't the only person to go through this either, as people who watched her video commented to say that they'd had a similar experience.

One wrote: "Same thing happened to me with my first!!! I tore and they had an intern stitch me up! Of course I was so exhausted that I didn't even realise it."

Another added: "Same! They set up a table and had 3 people between my legs as I pushed! The doctor was 'annoyed' I didn't rip so they couldn't practice sticking."

A third person, who works as a nurse, offered reassurance that things have changed since, writing: "I'm sorry that happened. I'm an L&D [labour and delivery] nurse who works at a military hospital, our team always asks before allowing any students to enter the room!"

When another TikToker asked why she didn't ask for consent, Jessica responded: "I feel like the military owns you when you're in it."

Others revealed the same thing had happened to them but at civilian hospitals, with a more forgiving person saying: "Regular hospital did this to me but I feel these students need to learn somehow."

Another user in a similar boat added: "I gave birth in a regular hospital in Toronto and this happened to me. I'm such a private person and this was an awful experience!!"
