Perth Police Are On The Hunt For Woman Who Stole Sex Toy

Police in Western Australia have been tasked with finding a decidedly dastardly thief in Perth.

It's not a bunch of family heirlooms that have gone missing, nor a car, not even a kid, but a sex toy.

Yep - the hunt is on for a woman caught on CCTV going into a Perth adult store and stuffing a product under her top and walking out. Who would do such a thing?

Sex toys can range from being relatively cheap to bloody expensive, so it'll be interesting to see what the item was that required the woman to steal it.

The plea for information has been uploaded to the Perth District Police Facebook page where people have been revealing just how dirty their minds can get.

"I'm sensing a lot of negative vibes here. She obviously just wanted a buzz. I'm sure she thought long and hard about it," wrote one person.

"But did the batteries come with it?" said another.

It seems like Australia isn't a stranger to sex toy thieves, with a hunt being sparked two years ago for a man with very sticky hands in Melbourne.

The thief was snapped on CCTV, smashing his way through a security barrier with a fire extinguisher and bolt cutters.

In the footage, a white Ford van is seen driving into the car park at the rear of the store, before the man, wearing a stocking on his head, jumps out and starts having a go at the gate.

He struggles to get through the barrier before heading back to his van, taking out a fire extinguisher and hurling it at the door.

The man then vanishes into the shop for a few seconds before re-emerging with his new partner, Dorothy, a 5'5" life-size sex doll which retails at $4,500.

Whether the speediness of his entry into the building was because he was worried about getting caught, or just due to him being really horny, remains unclear.

The sex toy industry is worth an estimated $15 billion worldwide. Of course, not all of this is down to sex dolls, but your average sex doll costs anywhere between $2,000 and $10,000. One company even charges an eye watering $10,000 for just the head of an AI sex doll.

So it's not hard to see why some people would prefer to just nick one rather than hand over up to five figures.
