A mass 'Josh fight' is set to kick off today to finally decide the rightful owner of the name.
Yep, what started as a bit of a joke to ease some pandemic boredom has snowballed and now the fight appears to be going ahead with an official website counting down the seconds.
In case you missed it, last year Josh Swain from Arizona set up a Facebook chat with as many other Josh Swains as he could - telling them: "You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here today."

Before explaining: "Precisely, 4/24/2021, 12:00pm, meet at these coordinates (40.82232286 -96.7982002) we fight, whoever wins gets to keep the name, everyone else has to change their name, you have a year to prepare, good luck."
After setting up the humorous chat, Josh pretty much forgot all about it until a screenshot of it resurfaced on social media and he realised he was going to have to go ahead.
Speaking to 1011now, Josh said: "I immediately was frightened, and my friend was like 'you have to go'.

"I guess I have to make it a thing."
Josh has since had to change the coordinates after choosing those ones at random only to discover that was slap bang in the middle of someone's farm.
So now, the battle is set to take place at Air Park Green Area in Lincoln, Nebraska and is open to anyone named Josh - not just Josh Swain.
Posting on Reddit about the event, which you can check out here, Josh said he is 'the only Josh Swain that I know of that will be there' - before saying if a fellow Josh Swain does turn up they'll have 'a gruelling and righteous battle of rock, paper, scissors'.

He urges other Joshs who might fancy going to bring pool noodles to fight with, which will then be opened up to a mass pool noodle fight with anyone in attendance regardless of their name.
As well as keeping good to his word, Josh has also decided to use his new-found viral fame for good and is asking anyone who goes to bring some non-perishables to give to a local food bank.
And he's also launched the 'help pay legal fees for Josh Swains to change their name' fund, which is actually just a silly title for a fundraiser for the Children's Hospital & Medical Centre Foundation.

Good luck, Josh, may the odds be forever in your favour.
