A woman who purchased what she thought was a pool cover from a charity shop was shocked to find out that she had actually picked up a box of vintage porn tapes.

Not only that, the anonymous woman also found that her buy included a space suit - 'John Travolta style s**t'.

Taking to Facebook to share the the unexpected contents of this unusual investment, she wrote: "I go to goodwill on union to buy this pool cover. Which might you I was excited they still had it because f**k paying a s**t ton for that.

"I get home... open the box to check it out. First think I notice is a space suit. Literally grey windbreaker John Travolta style s**t.

"I'm thinking that the f**k is this... then I look in the box and there are VHS tapes. Not just normal tapes but PORN. Lots of porn."

The contents of the purchase.

Carrying on, she explained that there was also two blue light bulbs, some rubbish and a Blu-ray disc.

She added: "I honestly died from laughter. Not sure if that's the best 6 bucks I have ever spent or the worst. Time to wash my hands." Can't say we blame her.

Unlike the original poster, some people seemed like they'd be quite nicely surprised by finding some vintage porn.

Responding to her post, one person wrote: "Time to have a stream party, don't forget to sent me an invite!"

Another added: "So I guess you're looking for a VHS player now huh?" While a third person wrote: "We need a part 2! What's on the vhs tapes? [sic]"

Taking issue with the fashion choices on display, another person pointed out: "I don't know if I would want to wear that space suit." Good point, given the times it's probably been used...

One person who was delighted at getting more than they bargained for was Andre Bisson, who had a dinosaur statue delivered to his home in Guernsey, UK, without realising it was 20 foot long and had to be delivered by crane.

Well, maybe Andre wasn't overjoyed, but his four-year-old son Theo certainly was.

The dinosaur was a lot bigger than it appeared online.

Speaking to The Sun, Andre said: "I checked the website straight away, and to my absolute amazement they had a carnotaur. Listed for £1,000 ($1,289), I just had to get this for Theo.

"The issue was as this was being sold off online, there was only a thumbnail image to try and gauge the size, no details whatsoever and no one to ask, I didn't care really."
