Woman Gives Birth Wearing 'Chewbacca' Mask For Some Reason

The video's actually pretty funny.

It's 2017. The 'aww look at my new baby' pictures that are constantly filling up your newsfeed just aren't cutting it anymore. If you're not going to get more than 100 likes on your announcement, is it even worth having a baby in the first place?

So what can you do? Well, you could just suck it up and accept the PITYFUL 30-odd likes that your new child has managed to get you, or you could buy a Chewbacca mask off the Internet for 30 quid and wear it throughout labour. If you get your fella to record it, that video alone will definitely go viral! Genius.

Aimee Smith, 26 (bloody Millennial), wore a Chewbacca mask throughout her whole labour despite not even liking the Star Wars movies. Poser, right?

She sneaked the mask into the maternity hospital for her third child. Aimee's partner, Michael Ogden, 36, recorded the whole thing at the Furness General Hospital in Cumbria.

The mum of three explained: "I bought the mask and thought I'd put it on as a joke - the midwives looked at me like I was mad.

"I bought it off the Internet, my sister-in-law said 'you should do this while you are in labour' - it was a joke."

What are you like, Aimee! I bet she was the kind of joker who put a whoopie cushion on someone's chair - classic.

"It was my third and last child," she added. "I thought, 'I might as well go out with a bang. My friends were all shocked - they were all laughing when they saw the video.

"They said they thought everyone in the hospital would think I was crazy. Can you imagine the baby thinking 'what the hell is going on?'"

She added: "When you make a noise, the mask makes a noise. Once we had the baby, the nurses were coming in and putting the mask on and getting pictures taken with the mask."

She continued explaining her hilarious prank: "I'm not a Star Wars fan, I've seen the films but I'm not really into them.

"I bought the mask about three weeks before the birth.

"When [baby son] Albie arrived he was just lying there looking around, he came out with his eyes open. I can just imagine being a baby and coming into the world and looking at two midwives acting stupid and me and his dad laughing our heads off because the mask was making a noise."

Ha! Yes! I bet the baby was really confused and definitely not oblivious to what was happening.
