Woman Licks Open Tub Of Ice Cream Then Puts It Back In The Shop Fridge For Prank

Gross.

A video has emerged that shows a woman taking the top off a tub of Blue Bell Creameries ice cream and licking it before replacing it on the shelf in a supermarket.

OK, that's disgusting.

I mean, if you're planning to do something like that, at least buy the bloody tub. Don't just leave it for some poor sucker to buy after you.

Better still, why not buy the thing and take it home with you, that way you can lick it to your hearts content in the comfort of your own home.

The whole eight second long mess seems to have been a dare laid down to the woman by the man who films it.

Either way, he can be heard to encourage the woman to commit this heinous and frankly unhygienic act during the eight second long clip, which proves that a) people will do anything for a small amount of attention these days and b) people are idiots.

Hopefully the people who own the shop have done away with their stock of that item before someone had the chance to buy the tub with this woman's germs all over it and then sue them.

So far, the video has been viewed more than 8m times on Twitter, and - as you might expect - a lot of the feedback that it has garnered has not been overwhelmingly positive.

According to the aforementioned feedback, it turns out that a lot of people reckon it should be against US federal law to tamper with food in a supermarket before putting it back onto the shelves or - in this case - back into the freezer.

Perhaps they've got a point. Who knows what this woman might have, after all? Where do you draw the line between what is funny and what is dangerous?

Let's suggest right here.

There are laws in the UK against food tampering - because it can cause serious harm.

Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest that the incident might have taken place in a San Antonio, Texas branch of Walmart. As mentioned, we can't be sure of that, though.

In response to the video, Blue Bell Creameries released a statement that reads: "We want to thank our consumers for alerting us to the recent food tampering incident. We take this issue very seriously and are currently working with law enforcement, retail partners and social media platforms. This type of incident will not be tolerated.

"Food safety is a top priority, and we work hard to provide a safe product and maintain the highest level of confidence from our consumers."

"During production, our half gallons are flipped upside down and sent to a hardening room where the ice cream freezes to the lid creating a natural seal.

"The lids are frozen tightly to the carton. Any attempt at opening the product should be noticeable. We will continue to monitor this situation."

Well, let's hope that the tampering is noticeable and they pick that particular tub off the shelves quickly, if they haven't already.

Also, whilst you're here, don't do this. It's gross.
