Woman Relaxes By Letting Poisonous Spiders Crawl On Her Face

What's wrong with a milkshake and a bit of Wallace and Gromit?

Picture the scene - you're lying on the beach, listening to the sea gently crash against the rocks, a cold drink in your hand and warm sand on your toes; you could scarcely be more relaxed.

And then, a massive hairy f**k off spider crawls across you face.

For most, this would ruin the moment. But not for one curious woman in Australia:

Tarni Roebuck, from Queensland, loves nothing more than letting the eight-legged fellas crawl around her head - and shares the unsettling proof on Instagram.

The 27-year-old first got into arachnids about four years ago, and while you could be forgiven for thinking she is some kind of adrenaline junkie, she swears she finds it therapeutic having the creepy crawlies clamber all over her.

She said: "I feel relaxed and often excited especially if I am handling one of my favourite species or a particularly large spider.

"Spending time with spiders is something I absolutely love, and it also helps me de-stress and remember to enjoy my surroundings.

Look how happy she is with that spider on her face.

"I love them because they are just so fascinating. I mean who wouldn't want to have eight legs and an endless supply of butt rope?"

Come to think of it Tarni, there have been countless occasions down the years when all I've needed is an endless supply of butt rope; that Spider-Man themed orgy and my nephew's Christening both spring to mind.

But while it seems unnecessarily risky to allow poisonous spiders to run riot on your face, Mrs Roebuck makes sure that she never invites venomous spiders to the party - which are the ones that can kill you.

Mrs Roebuck also said she has never been bitten by a spider, despite spending so much time in close proximity with them, and she is hoping her unnerving videos will help people conquer their fears - which should in turn help out spiders.

Mrs Roebuck hopes her vids will help save the lives of spiders.

She said: "If you want to overcome a fear of spiders my advice is to start by observing them.

"My aim is to promote the appreciation of spiders and encourage people to seek to understand them rather than fearing them.

"Many spiders are killed unnecessarily, and I am urging people to catch and release them outside rather than killing them."

If you are compelled to head out into your garden and have a search for a spider to put on your face (I'm sure you're not) then make sure it's not one of the venomous ones first (I'm looking at you lot down under primarily).
