Chess champion loses title after pooing in bathtub

We've all got our own ways of celebrating a win - but s**ting in a hotel bath isn't up there for most of us - I hope.

It's how Chinese chess champion Yan Chenglong decided to commemorate his win though, and he is now facing dire consequences for bizarrely defecating in the tub after toasting to his victory.

The 48-year-old reigned victorious at the national Xiangqi - also known as Chinese chess - tournament on 17 December, beating dozens of contenders to take home the title of 'Xiangqi King' and a hefty cash prize.

But he barely had time to bask in the glory of his success before the Chinese Xiangqi Association (CXA), who hosted the hugely popular event, announced that his title was being revoked and his jackpot stripped from him.

So next time you wake up with a sore head, be grateful you haven't ruined your reputation in the chess world and have a bathtub full of crap to deal with like Yan.

The CXA found out about the s**t show he left behind after a night of partying with his pals in a hotel room and said he had displaying 'extremely bad character' and 'violated good morals'.

The association said: "Yan consumed alcohol with others in his room on the night of the 17th, and then he defecated in the bathtub of the room he was staying in on the 18th, in an act that damaged hotel property, violated public order and good morals, had a negative impact on the competition and the event of Xiangqi, and was of extremely bad character."

The CXA was then also forced to address rumours that Yan had cheated - which also unfortunately had something to do with his backside.

The bloke was accused of using anal beads equipped with wireless transmitters during the tournament, which would send and receive information from a computer guiding him on what moves to make.

Pranksters Archie Manners and Josh Pieters have already proved the mucky cheating method is possible when they tried to get to the bottom of the Hans Niemann and Magnus Carlsen scandal which erupted last year.

Yan allegedly clenched and unclenched rhythmically, which sent information about the state of affairs on his chess board to his computer via code - before the gadget then sent back instructions for what moves he should make, according to rumours on Weibo.

The CXA said: "Based on our understanding of the situation, it is currently impossible to prove that Yan engaged in cheating via ‘anal beads’ as speculated on social media."

The association have been left pretty embarrassed by the defecating debacle, as they had praised Yan and other players for their 'spectacularly heated high-level gameplay' just last week online.

The amount of prize money Yan has now lost out on has not been disclosed, but people can often win big bucks at Xiangqi tournaments and winners often walk away with thousands.

The 48-year-old has reportedly also been banned from playing for a year as well as losing his title and prize money.

According to Shangyou News, Yan denied the cheating allegations and claimed he had suffered diarrhoea after a few too many bevvies and couldn't make it to the toilet in time - so he dropped the kids off at the nearest pool instead.

He also denies having cheated.
