Fantastic Beasts 3: Title, Release Date, Trailer And Cast

Warner Bros. has brought fans some good news from the Wizarding World: The third Fantastic Beasts movie will be arriving three months earlier than planned - and the title has been revealed.

The Anglo-American spin-off to the Harry Potter movies first hit the big screen in November 2016. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them proved a huge hit and was subsequently nominated for five BAFTAs.

The first sequel, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald, came two years later and proved that the appetite for stories from the Wizarding World were as big as ever. And in September 2021, fans got their first glimpse at the threequel.

The film will once again be directed by David Yates and will reunite producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Tim Lewis, along with executive producers Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Josh Berger and Courtenay Valenti.

The screenplay is written by J.K. Rowling, who also wrote the books, and Steve Kloves.

Fantastic Beasts 3 title and plot

Warner Bros. announced on social media the release date of the new movie, which has been titled Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

As the name suggests, the threequel will engage fans with Albus Dumbledore's backstory. It will be the first time, in all of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies, that fans will get a closer look at the adored Hogwarts headmaster.

Giving us a generous insight into the new film's plot, Warner Bros. said:

"Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world.

"Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald's growing legion of followers.

"But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?"
