Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have been together on and off for more than six years and in 2020, Gigi gave birth to their daughter, Khai.
In October 2021, the two reportedly parted ways again - and this time it looked to be serious.
Are Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik still together in 2021?
On 28th October 2021, reports said the two had split up once again after Zayn allegedly struck Gigi's mother, Yolanda Hadid.
Gigi and Zayn have since spoken out about the alleged incident. First and foremost, they both wanted to protect their daughter, Khai.
"Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time," her rep told E Online.
Zayn also spoke out about the situation. He told TMZ: "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details.
"I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private," he added.
The singer then took to Twitter and said:
"As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private place for my daughter to grow up in a place where private family matters aren't thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart.
"In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner's who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago."
"This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been 'leaked' to the press," he continued.
Yolanda, 57, has not made any comments about the allegations.
Gigi and Zayn relationship timeline: How long were they together?
Zayn first started dating the supermodel in November 2015. They went Instagram official the following month. In January 2016, Gigi appeared in the music video for Zayn's 'Pillowtalk.'
By June 2016, rumours surfaced that the couple had been on and off around Gigi's birthday. But Gigi denied they'd split up and they went from strength to strength over the next year, even appearing on the cover of Vogue together in August 2017.
In March 2018, the couple split up. They both issued their own statements on social media, explaining they'd "grown apart," citing their "crazy work schedules that would put pressure on any relationship."
Shortly after, rumours surfaced that they'd reconciled after being spotted together several times throughout 2018 and by September, they were back on, it seemed, as Zayn posted a photo of Yolanda holding his GQ cover. These rumours continued into 2019, until Zayn was linked to Selena Gomez. Gigi had also seemingly moved on and started dating Tyler Cameron in August 2019.
By January 2020, the couple confirmed they were back together and in September 2020, baby Khai was born.Featured Image Credit: PA
