Love, Death & Robots, the animated sci-fi Netflix series for adults, is returning for season 2 (or "volume 2" if you're a superfan) this weekend and we see a binge session in your near-future.

Describing the first season, which came out in 2019, Netflix said: "Terrifying creatures, wicked surprises and dark comedy converge in this NSFW anthology of animated stories presented by Tim Miller and David Fincher."

Here's a look at the trailer for season 2.

Love, Death & Robots release date 2021

The second series will be available to stream from Friday 14th May 2021 on Netflix.

All episodes will be available to watch at once and the first series is still available if you fancy a recap before starting season 2.

What is Love, Death + Robots about?

Don't let the fact that it's an animated series fool you. This sci-fi programme is rated 18 and contains some frightening characters.

Each episode forms part of an anthology of 18 creative short stories, which span several genres from sci-fi to comedy.

It was created by Academy Award-winning director and visual effects artist, Tim Miller, who brought us hits such as Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate.

With so many different storylines, the series has a large cast. The cast members don't appear in every episode and they often play more than one character.

Season 1 starred Scott Whyte (Ghost in the Shell), Nolan North (Pretty Little Liars) and Matthew Yang King (Riverdale) and it's hoped they'll be returning in the second season.
