If you've been gripped by Netflix's new series, Maid, you're probably frantically searching for any sign of a second series, right? Here's everything we know so far.
Maid tells the story of Alex (Margaret Qualley), a young mother who flees an abusive relationship and finds a job cleaning houses to provide for her and her young daughter.
The series is, sadly, based on a true story and it's an adaptation of a memoir written by a woman called Stephanie Land, an American writer who went through this experience.
It's been named the most important series of all time to watch, particularly as more people have slipped below the poverty line as a result of the pandemic, and it threatens to knock The Queen's Gambit off the top spot of the most-watched scripted dramas on Netflix of all time.
Nothing has been confirmed yet and given that this is marketed as a limited series, it's not looking likely. There's also the fact that this was an adaptation of a memoir, not a series of books. But still, never say never.
We could see Netflix running with the original story and if they were to greenlight a season two, we could see what happens next for Alex.
The showrunner for Maid, Molly Smith-Metzler, told Decider she's keen to see it being renewed: "I will say that this is such a labor of love, this show. I'm in love with all these characters, and I could write Alex for the rest of my life. You know, she's just in my heart."
"But," she added, "I do feel like we tell her story, so I'm not sure what that would look like."
If Maid is renewed, we predict it could be released in Autumn 2022, but we'll let you know as soon as we get anything confirmed.
Should we get a season two of Maid, we'd expect all the main characters from season one to return, such as:
