Marvel's Eternals has some important clues about future MCU movies.

Marvel's Eternals has finally landed in cinemas and it turns out those rumours about Harry Styles entering the MCU are true.

Eternals sees a whole new raft of superheroes entering the MCU, including the fierce warrior Thena, played by Angelina Jolie, and the all-powerful Ikaris, played by The Bodyguard's Richard Madden.

The movie has received mixed reviews to say the least. While some have said it's an 'epic' addition to the Marvel franchise, others have put it down as the worst-rated movie in the MCU.

That's up to you to decide though. One thing I think we can all agree on though is the fact that it's got some amazing hints towards the next film.

Does Marvel's Eternals have an end credits scene?

Marvel films are known for their end credits scenes and Eternals is no exception. So yes, there is indeed an end credits scene and in this one, we're introduced to not one, not two, but four new characters in phase four of the MCU.

Eternals' end credits scene introduces four new characters

Warning: Eternals spoilers alert.

You'll definitely want to stick around at the end of Eternals to meet the four new superhuman characters who are set to feature in a later Marvel film. A certain One Direction star is among the new cast members.

Harry Styles enters the MCU as Starfox

The ex 1D star is set to enter the MCU as Eros of Titan - aka Starfox.

During the mid-credits scene, which picks up some time after the events of Eternals, Druig, Makkari and Thena leave Earth in their spaceship in search of more missing Eternals.

Suddenly, they hear a noise and a portal opens, revealing a small goblin-like creature (Pip the troll) and behind him, Styles, who announces himself as Eros of Titan. He tells the Eternals he knows their plan and reveals where they can find more missing Eternals.

In the comics, Starfox is the son of the Eternals A'Lars and Sui-San and brother of Thanos. He is the basis for Eros, the god of love and is described as less serious than other Marvel characters. Although he'll fight when needs be, he'd prefer to be travelling the galaxy, womanising. Naturally as a basis for the god of love, his power can make people fall in love - or in love with him.

Pip the troll enters the MCU

As mentioned, Starfox's arrival through the portal is announced by a goblin-like character called Pip the troll.

Unlike other characters though, Pip is completely computer generated and it's not been confirmed who will voice him.

According to the comics, Pip wasn't born a troll, but he was turned into one after a night drinking with some. Pip possesses some magical powers in the MCU, which he's acquired over time, including the ability to teleport (as is evident in the end credits).

Kit Harington enters the MCU as Dane Whitman aka Black Knight

Although Harington's Dane Whitman was introduced in a supporting role during the film, the end credits hint that there's more to his story.

During the end credits, Dane can be seen pacing up and down his office, preparing to open a mysterious box on his desk. Whispers can be heard as he opens it and a magic sword reading "Death is his reward" appears.

In the comics, the Ebony Blade is a magically enchanted sword that gives the wielder some incredible powers, including the ability to cut through any object, to deflect magic, and to protect them from death. But it comes at a heavy price and the owner will eventually crave death and bloodshed.

Mahershala Ali enters the MCU as Blade

Last but not least, Mahershala Ali makes his MCU debut in the Eternals end credits as Blade. Ali was first cast to play the character in 2019 and his movie is yet to have a release date, so it looks like Marvel has reassured fans with this move that a Blade movie is coming.

Turns out, the voice Dane Whitman can hear whispering to him when he opens the box is Blade's and the sword belongs to him. In Marvel Comics, both were members of Captain Britain's MI-13 superhero team and it looks like big things will be happening for these two characters in upcoming MCU films.

Marvel's Eternals was released in cinemas in the UK on 5th November 2021.
