Adult Swim’s Rick And Morty: The Movie Is Coming As We Await Season 5

As fans patiently await the arrival of Rick and Morty season 5, it's been confirmed by the show's producers that Rick and Morty: The Movie is in the pipeline.

Adult Swim has been trending on TikTok recently, which just proves how nostalgic people feel about the TV channel and shows such as Rick and Morty. So it's no surprise really that a movie of the adult comedy cartoon is coming to the big screen.

According to Metro, the show's producer, Scott Marder, writer Dan Harmon and Spencer Grammer, the voice of Summer, are all certain a Rick and Morty film will happen.

'It'd be daunting [but] I wouldn't be shocked if there was one that comes down the pipe one day,' said Scott, who says to make it a successful movie, "it'd have to be pretty epic."

"I feel like every episode is a movie. I'd like to see what a movie would be, I feel like we pack so much in," he added.

Rick and Morty: The Movie in 3D

Spencer even suggested making it 3D: "It'd have to be something so big - like a 3D interactive movie that also has a theme park. I don't know if you could just do a straight movie," said Spencer.

"There are those 4D movie theatres in New York City." Ahem, we have them in the UK too, Spencer!

Rick and Morty movie release date

Nothing is set in stone yet, but the show's co-creator Justin Roiland said it's a matter of 'when' and not 'if' a movie will come.

We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

We bet you didn't know that Rick and Morty are, in fact, both voiced by Justin Roiland who is one of the co-creators of the show. So, as the voice of the two main characters, Justin would definitely be in the Rick and Morty movie.

Rick and Morty: The Movie cast

Many of the show's writers and directors also voice the characters. Dan Harman, who's written 41 episodes of season 5 and confirmed season 6 is being worked on, has voiced several characters including: Birdperson, Phoenixperson, Acid Man and Alejandro - to name a few. So it would make sense that Dan would also be in the movie.
