Scarlett Johansson fans had no idea she was pregnant until the birth of her baby boy was announced. She and her husband, Colin Jost, kept the pregnancy private until he posted to Instagram to announce their son Cosmo's arrival.
Johansson, 36, has one other child from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac, Rose Dauriac, who is six-years-old.
The Black Widow star married Colin Jost in October 2020 in a private ceremony, so it wasn't long before she was expecting her second child.
Colin Jost is an American comedian, actor and writer who has been writing for Saturday Night Live since 2005 and co-hosting the Weekend Update segment of the show since 2014.
Born on 29th June 1982 in New York, where Johansson also grew up, Jost is 39-years-old in 2021. He has one younger brother, Casey Jost, who writes for Impractical Jokers.
Jost studied at the prestigious Harvard University where he majored in history and literature. He graduated in 2004 and it was during his student days that he started writing comedy. He was a member of the Harvard Lampoon, which is a pipeline for many of America's future comedy writers.
Johansson and Jost first started dating in 2017, having gone public at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in New York in May that year.
They got engaged in May 2019 and married in October 2020.
Johansson gave birth to their first child together in August 2021, Cosmo .
Posting the news to his Instagram, Jost said: "Ok ok we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much." He added: "#wegotawaywithitforalongtime #nokidspolicy #we'regoingtodisneyworld" but didn't post any photos, saying "privacy would be greatly appreciated".
He jokingly tagged his Weekend Update co-host Michel Che as the couple's publicist and asked that any press enquiries be directed to her.
Johansson has been married twice before: firstly to Ryan Reynolds between 2008-2011, and then to French journalist Romain Dauriac between 2014-2017, who she had her daughter Rose with. Johansson opened up to the press about her divorce to Dauriac in 2017.
Jost is estimated to be worth $8 million (£5.8 million) in 2021.
Johansson was the world's highest-paid actress in 2018 and again in 2019 ,and she's a regular on the Forbes 'Celebrity 100' list. The Marvel star is one of the highest-grossing box office actresses of all time, with her movies grossing $14.3 billion (£10.6 billion) worldwide, and she has a net worth to reflect it. She's estimated to be worth $165 million (£120.5 million) in 2021.
It's reported that Johansson is also an extremely well-paid brand endorser and can easily make between $10-$20 million (£7.3-£14.7 million) a year from endorsements, and that number again from her movies.
