Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Ending Was Influenced By Tom Holland

Tom Holland has revealed that he had some influence on the way that Spider-Man: No Way Home ends. It comes after the actor hinted at making an exit from the franchise.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is Tom Holland's sixth outing as Peter Parker in the Marvel franchise. According to reports, he wasn't vibing with the film's finale and actually had some input with the ending fans will see in cinemas next month.

Speaking to GQ, the British actor recalled his reaction to the original final scene - "Is this really f*****g happening? It's crazy," he thought, before admitting: "I kept stopping and being like, 'I'm so sorry, I just don't believe what I'm saying.'"

"[Director Jon Watts and I] sat down, we went through it, and we came up with a new idea," he explained to the publication. "Then we pitched it to the writers, they rewrote it, and it works great."

No Way Home is the final film on Holland's Spider-Man contract and then he could possibly be done. He told GQ: "Maybe it is time for me to move on. Maybe what's best for Spider-Man is that they do a Miles Morales film."

"Since I got cast as Spider-Man, I haven't really taken a break," he added.

"I find myself ringing my dad [Dominic, a comedian and author] for stuff that I should definitely know how to do: 'Dad, how do I put the washing machine on?'"

If that's the case and this is his final outing as Spidey, he'll want to ensure his final outing, with Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr Strange by his side, has the epic ending worthy of his six-year stint in the MCU world.

We'll just have to wait for 15th December to see the ending Holland and the film's producers decided on. For now, we don't know what the original ending looks like and we may never know. There's a chance it'll be revealed after the film is released though.

"It's very strange. The last six years of my life, I always had a job to go to. It's kind of terrifying, but it's also really exciting," said Holland.

But looking ahead to his future, the 25-year-old has been linked to James Bond. According to his Spider-Man co-star Jacob Battalion, who plays Parker's bestie Ned, has revealed that he "talks about being James Bond a lot'" and not just a lot but "a lot, a lot."
