Call of Duty's Season 3 will soon come to an end - and all-out warfare will begin anew with Season 4.

Season 3 sensationally saw Verdansk nuked - introducing a whole new map to the battle royale set in 1984 - and Black Ops Cold War received a plethora of new modes, weapons and operators.

It'll be hard for another season to top this one, but Season 4 is excitingly on the horizon - and we can't wait for it to arrive.

Season 4 could be scheduled for a mid-June release

Knowing the exact end date of Season 3 not only gives a good idea of when to expect new content, but also how long they'll have to complete the content this current section has to offer.

So what do we know about Season 4 so far and when is it being released?

When does Warzone Season 3 end?

Season 3 will end in mid-June, anytime between June 15-17.

This can be determined thanks to the game's current battle pass which clearly lists its end date as June 15.

As with previous seasons and associated passes, the next season typically picks up immediately where the last one left off.

We expect that if Activision and Treyarch wanted to change the formula they've held and has been popularized within the genre they likely would have already announced it.

Such a large shift could throw long time fans and players for a loop so it makes sense to give them a fair warning - possibly even more than a full season beforehand.

As to what kind of content may appear in Season 4, it is unlikely any major changes will occur, however, nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.

When will Season 4 be released?

Call of Duty seasons come out in the same rough schedule, with each season typically lasting two months - introducing a host of updates.

Call of Duty Season 3 came out on April 22, and is still adding content.

But the Battle Pass is due to end on June 15, which gives us a big clue as to when the new season will start.

Seasons typically begin immediately after the old Battle Pass ends, meaning the update should be released at the following times:

  • UK: 7am
  • Europe: 8am
  • East Coast US: 2am
  • West Coast US: 11pm

You might have to wait for both the download and maintenance time for the patch to be completed, but how long this will take depends on which platform you're using.

Call of Duty Season 4 news and rumours

It's impossible to say exactly what's coming in Season 4, but we have some ideas.

For a start, every new season introduces plenty of bonus content - and it will almost certainly include part of a new overarching storyline that affects Call of Duty Cold War and Warzone.

We're also likely to get new weapons and Operators - and fresh skins for both.

Bug fixes will be aplenty, with balance tweaks for guns and changes to Verdansk to prevent map exploits.

And we could see more substantial changes to Verdansk.

Season 3 introduced a large overhaul of the Warzone map, recreating buildings, re-doing textures and significantly revamping some areas of Verdansk.

It seems unlikely that a major Verdansk makeover is on the way so soon, though.
