In case you've been living under a rock and weren't aware, You season three lands on Netflix this weekend.
It comes as a glorious binge-worthy package of ten one-hour episodes on 15th October. Ahead of that, here's a recap on the first two seasons.
What is You on Netflix about?
You is a psychological thriller which stars Penn Badgley as the dangerously charming, intensely obsessive young man, Joe Goldberg, who goes to extreme measures to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by.

The suspenseful series shot to the top of the ranks on Netflix from the get go. It's proven so popular, season four was confirmed just days before season three's release date.
In season three, we meet a number of new characters as Joe and his wife Love move to a new town to get a fresh start and raise their son Henry. Shalita Grant said she can't wait for fans of the show to hate her nasty new character, Sherry Conrad.
You season one recap
Joe Goldberg is a bookstore manager from New York City who meets aspiring writer Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), and immediately becomes fixated on her. Everything about Joe seems normal at first; he's charming, witty, handsome and smart. But he's actually a murderer with a hero complex.

Joe starts stalking her on social media, monitoring her every move and even enters her apartment while she's out. But Joe ends up coming to her rescue when, drunkenly, she falls onto the subway tracks.
Joe starts killing people who stand in the way of him and Beck, such as her best friend Peach (Shay Mitchell), who Joe believes secretly loves Beck, and her ex-boyfriend Benji (Lou Taulor Pucci).
Beck starts seeing a therapist, Dr Nicky (John Stamos) after struggling to come to terms with Peach's death and at the same time, grows suspicious of Joe's reluctance to talk about his ex-girlfriend Candace (Ambyr Childers), who seemingly disappeared off the face of the Earth.

Her investigation into Joe's weird behaviour around Candace leads to nothing, but at the end of season one, Beck finds a strange box in Joe's bathroom containing Peach, Benji and Candace's valuables. Joe finds Beck with the box and he locks her in a vault underneath the bookstore.
What happened at the end of season one of You?
Season one concludes with Joe killing Beck off-screen after she got so close to escaping. This takes Joe's total body count upto five, which includes his neighbour's abusive stepfather, Ron (Daniel Cosgrove) who he killed some time ago and Elijah, who Joe killed after he discovered Candace was having an affair with.
Joe frames Dr Nicky for all of his murders. He was, afterall, discovered to have been having an affair with Beck while she was with Joe.

All seems to have worked in Joe's favour until Candace, who he believed to be long gone, visits the bookstore and says they have some unfinished business to discuss.
You season two recap
Season two shines a light on Joe's backstory and the abuse he and his mother endured from his father. We see the first murder Joe ever commits, which is of his father in order to protect his mother.
At the start of the second series, Joe moves to LA for a fresh start under a new identity. Joe meets Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), who soon becomes his new love interest. But we soon realise her past is as dark as his and he's not the only murderer around.
Love and her twin brother Forty (James Scully) had an au pair when they were younger, who started a sexual relationship with Forty. Forty thought it was love, but Love saw that it was abuse and in order to protect her brother, she slashed the au pair's throat. She made it look like her brother had committed the murder in a moment of rage, but the Quinn family carried it off as a suicide.

The murder doesn't stop there. Candace phones Love later on in the series to see what Joe has done to Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) who Joe locked in a cage after she finds out who he really is and is later found there lying in a pool of her own blood. We later learn that it was Love who killed Delilah to protect Joe and Candace meets the same fate.
What happened at the end of season two of You?
In the season two finale, Forty starts to piece together Joe's past and realise who he really is. He already knew Joe had a false name and he accepted that, until he found out why. Having discovered he's a cold-blooded murderer, Forty races to warn Love, not knowing that she's just as deep into it now.
Forty then holds Joe at gunpoint at Anavrin, which is when Delilah's LAPD officer hook-up David Fincher (Danny Vasquez) storms in and shoots Forty dead. Forty is then suspected of killing Henderson (Chris D'Elia), the comedian with a secret past of child molestation. Henderson was, in fact, killed by Joe who sought to protect Delilah's 15-year-old sister Ellie (Jenna Marie Ortega), who's Henderson's intern.
With the blame pinned on Forty, Joe seemingly gets away with it again, for now.
Season three sees Joe, Love and their new son Henry move to a new town for yet another fresh start for Joe. He's determined that his son will not grow up to be like him, but we're told Love struggles to keep up the appearance of the friendly new neighbour in the coming series.
You season three comes to Netflix on Friday 15th October 2021.
