One extremely devoted pet owner has built a doggy mansion for her beloved pooch - and all for just £60.

Stay-at-home mother of two - three if you include her dog - Georgina Beetlestone has built an incredible mini home for her nine-month old pooch, Minnie.

The build sees underneath her stairs transformed Harry Potter-style into a dwelling fit for doggy royalty - complete with all the furnishings and decor that poor boy wizard Harry wasn't afforded.

The 31-year-old mum, from Newport, Saffron Walden, wanted somewhere homely for her tiny Pomeranian, so made the dream a reality with special dog wallpaper, a couch, framed photo on the wall, and a dog-sized door so she can, you know, maintain her privacy.

"I have always wanted to make one but I didn't have any under stairs space in my previous property," says mum to Ella, 11, and Jesse, who is just 19 months.

Even in the early stages after moving into her home Georgina knew there was the chance to kick her longterm project off: "When I moved to this property a year ago, I saw the potential for a dog room and decided to make it."

She continued, describing how she constructed the pet pad: "My friend's partner cut the hole for me, I made a patrician to put inside the cupboard, I put sticky tiles on the floor and put the wallpaper and a LED light because I didn't want it to be all gloomy- all I need is name plaque now."

Georgina even added a small framed photo of her beloved dog's mum and dad, presumably so Minnie could fondly reminisce as she gets some peace and quiet from the kids: "I even called the breeder and asked for a photo of Minnie's parents."

Georgina's efforts to make her dog, Minnie, comfortable were impressive.

Speaking prior to the doghouse being finished, Georgina commented on how inquisitive Minnie was to check it out: "I was waiting for it to dry so I didn't put her inside yet but it looks like she likes it because she keeps going to see."

"The whole thing cost me £60," she confirmed. Citing that is cost just a few quid 'for the wood, the MDF board, the wallpaper and the tiles.'

"I really enjoyed making it, I loved it - she is so sweet she deserves it."

Georgina shared the results of her handy work over on Facebook, where the response from people were supportive and positive. "That's amazing. Can you come and do mine?" one person wrote.

Another admirer commented: "This is so amazing! Absolutely love it."
