Netflix has announced that it is looking for cute dogs to star in the second series of a documentary series all about canine companions.

If you are the sort of person who takes endless photographs of their dog and probably set up a Facebook and Instagram page for them, this might be exactly the opportunity that you've been looking for.

Netflix has announced that it is bringing back the popular - if a little unimaginatively titled - Dogs for a second run.

Announcing the good news on Twitter, the show posted: "Guess what?! Dogs is coming back for another season!

"Tell us your dog story for a chance to potentially be featured in Dogs Season 2! Share your story on Instagram or Twitter with #netflixdogstory and tag @NetflixDogs."

In short, that means that they need people to tell them about their furry friends on the show. If you've got a dog, and statistically one in four households in Britain do, then you can turn your doggo into a star - provided that you've got a heart-warming tale to tell.

On Wednesday, the executive producers of the show, Amy Berg and Glen Zipper, released a joint statement that said: "From the beginning we have said that the joy shown in Dogs helps bring people together and that same feeling will translate more than ever in Season Two."

They continued: "Dogs offers us the ability to explore some of the most important human stories through relationships with our best friends and it's been amazing to see how much these episodes have touched audiences and critics across the globe.

"Most importantly, our fans have become part of our extended family and we are honoured to bring them a fresh set of stories that will allow us to connect with them yet again."

Naturally, people have been taking this golden opportunity to share pictures of their dogs with a wider audience.

The results, as you'll be able to see, are cute, inspiring, and - more often than not - just simply bizarre.

As Netflix's tweet says, if you want to share your shaggy dog story with the world, just take a photo and explain. Remember to use the hashtag and tag @NetflixDogs in your tweet.

Good luck!
