Let's be honest, back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, your week wasn't complete if you hadn't seen Stone Cold Steve Austin neck two beers before causing havoc on an episode of Monday Night Raw.
In the background you could hear your parents chatting some utter shite along the lines of: "Why do you watch that stuff? It's all fake!" And, truth be told, it was hard to refrain from replying: "Listen, I couldn't give a shiny rat's arse whether it's fake or not, Steve Austin's blood alcohol level is enough to get a Texas brothel pissed and he's just Stone Cold Stunnered Kane into oblivion."
However, it seems fake rumours come with anything in WWE. People have often suggested that the Rattlesnake chugs non-alcoholic beverages at shows as just part of his gimmick.
But it turns out that only once did he guzzle alcohol-free lager due to an arena's rules. Every other time he was effectively half-cut as he was stomping mud holes in his opponent's chests. He once even managed to get through more than 100 cans in the ring with the Dudley Boyz.
"We went through 115 beers that night, and that was the most I ever went through. A lot of people said, 'Hey, man, was that real beer?'," he said on a recent episode of his podcast. "And I say, yes, it was always real beer... Except for the one time... Maybe it was against the rules of the building, but it was NA beer, non-alcoholic.
"I can't tell you how many times I left the ring and I had a little bit of a buzz because of all the beers I was drinking.
"When you're shotgunning anywhere from six to 12 beers, and maybe you get half of 'em in. On an empty stomach, after you've wrestled, it goes to your head pretty quick."
I mean, who are these people who actually doubt that Austin was drinking real beer? Don't be absurd.
