Rapper Action Bronson has revealed how he managed to lose 125lbs this year, saying the transformation was 'long overdue'.

Bronson - whose real name is Ariyan Arslani - said he was 'pushing 400lbs' when he was at his heaviest, but has managed to bring his weight down significantly this year by changing his routine and hitting the gym.

Earlier this year, he shared an Instagram video showing himself working out at the gym, saying he'd managed to shed 80lbs, taking his weight from 363lbs to 283lbs.

But since then, he's managed to lose even more - ramping his total weight loss since March up to 125lbs.

Speaking to Men's Health about his fitness drive, Bronson said he's been doing 'the same workout as professional athletes'.

Referring to the health kick as 'the hardest thing' he's ever done, Bronson said: "There's no f***ing magic tricks, it's just hard work and dedication and consistency."

The turning point came when he got on the scales and saw the numbers tip 375lbs.

"It hit me like a f***ington of bricks," he said.

"I had no idea, I hadn't gotten on a scale in years. Man, I'd done some serious damage."

After his son was born in 2019, he realised that he would 'always want to be around' his family, and that he needed to turn things around.

Bronson - who's always been known for his love of food, having fronted Vice TV show F***, That' Delicious - said his transformation involved 'no surgery, no magic', and instead was all down to 'hard work, dedication, sweat, agony, lots of motivation'.

His daily routine completely changed, now waking up at 4am and starting his day with a protein shake, before going for a breakfast of two eggs, three egg whites, one piece of sprouted rye bread and an avocado.

He then drives over to Impact Zone Fitness in Norwood, New Jersey, to box for 45 minutes, followed by a session with trainer Dave Paladino.

"I've already got my work in while everyone else is snoozing, putting in big gains, big protein, you know?" Bronson said.

He is also a fan of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts, preferring athletic circuits that test his entire body.

The star added: "Like 50-pound medicine-ball throws, you know, down a 50-yard track, throwing it as far as you can, all the way down the track and back."

He also loves slams, carries, presses and sled pushes, finishing off with a hundred burpees or 'some sort of ridiculous thing'.

Bronson also redefined his relationship with food, saying with a laugh: "I'm kinda like a boring eater at this point."

Claiming to be 'more interested in food now than ever' as he's fascinated by nutrition, Bronson also said he's eating more filling foods, emphasising protein and complex carbohydrates, and refraining from any carbs at night.

"You're playing quarterback with your own body," he said.

"It's all about decisions."
