Anne Hegerty Calls Man Who Trolled Emily Atack 'A Sad C***'

Anne Hegerty Calls Man Who Trolled Emily Atack 'A Sad C***'

The Chase star had some very stern words for the keyboard warrior

There's a reason why they call Anne Hegerty 'The Governess' on The Chase, and it's cos she'll call you a 'sad c***' if you step out of line.

The 60-year-old walking encyclopaedia dropped the C bomb in defence of actress Emily Atack, who she befriended while living in the jungle together on the latest season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The situation arose after the 29-year-old shared the news that she had been cast as Debbie Harry in a new TV series.

Most people responded with whole-hearted praise, however as always, there was one prick who decided to respond prickishly, stating that The Inbetweeners star wasn't good looking enough to play the Blondie singer.

The prick in question, called Steve, retweeted her news with the message: "Sorry, you're just not pretty enough," accompanied by a thumbs down emoji.

Emily Atack didn't rise to the nasty tweet, but Anne Hegerty certainly did.

Atack seemed to take the arsehole of a comment quite well, responding with a googly-eyed tongue out emoji - which I can only interpret as a polite way of rising about his prickery while bringing it to the attention of others.

If that was her plan then it certainly seemed to work, with none less than The Governess herself wading in, determining that 'prick' was too polite a term for Steve.

Replying directly to him, she tweeted: "What a sad c*** you are, Steve."

Anne Hegerty put Steve in his place.

Phwoooar that's satisfying. Get in Hegerty.

Clearly the comment went down an absolute treat, receiving 21,000 likes and 2,8000 retweets.

One person replied: "Take a fucking bow, Anne! Steve could only dream to be within 50 foot of a woman as stunning as Emily. Actually, he's probably not even allowed within 200 foot of any woman."

Another person said: "Anne you are brilliant!! This is the best response."

A third added: "And for Steve, the Chase is over. *loud theme tune*"

The pair grew close while appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! together.

Neither Atack nor Steve 'The C***' have responded to her put down as of yet, but you have to guess that the former is probably feeling pretty smug to have the friendship of The Governess, while the latter is presumably wallowing in his own wankerishness.

However, what if Steve was in fact being ironic with his remark? Maybe he was parodying your typical misogynistic prick on purpose and is in fact a huge fan of Atack?

... If that's the case, then sorry Steve, Anne Hegerty has called you 'a sad c***' and now the internet agrees.
