Aussie actor Ray Meagher, best known for his role as Alf Stewart in Home and Away, has successfully undergone emergency heart surgery.
The 75-year-old was in the middle of a routine health check, according to Channel 7, when the doctor found three 'serious blockages' in his arteries.
Doctors recommended an emergency triple bypass surgery and it's been hailed a complete success.
The legendary actor is now recovering in hospital.
He was supposed to be driving up to Queensland for a cheeky getaway when the doctor's visit happened.
Ray has told the Herald Sun: "We were all packed up and ready to drive north, but if we had without seeing the cardiologist, well, you could have a heart attack at the wheel, you kill yourself, you kill your wife, or some other poor innocent people. It's just horrific to think what could have happened."
"I'm just glad to be on the planet."
He's now using his experience to remind other people his age to get checked regularly.
"I'm not quite rearing to go just yet but it comes back again to 'please people, get checked.'"
"It doesn't take long and there's so much to be gained by going to the doctor and finding out the truth about your health, so you can do something about it."
Hoping for a speedy recovery for Alf.
