BBC Viewers In Hysterics Over Caption After Zoe Ball Lands Breakfast Show

The announcement has come, the one you've been in secret talks about for months, huge news - for you, your family, everyone. It's nerve-wracking and then, suddenly, it gets completely overshadowed by some imbecile at the BBC who finds humour in the words 'ball bags'.

And that imbecile ladies and gents is our ultimate hero of the day. Because it's fucking brilliant.

Zoe thinks it's pretty great, too.

So, just as Zoe Ball was announced as BBC Radio 2's brand new breakfast presenter, she found herself balls deep in a naughty caption, written by her employer themselves.

BBC News hilariously captioned the strap 'Ball Bags Breakfast' -sounds appetising, right? I prefer Fruit and Fibre myself but whatever floats your boat.

And it didn't go unnoticed, one viewer took to social media writing: "Magnificent captioning on the BBC News Channel this morning."

Another put forward a pretty good pitch: "'BALL BAGS BREAKFAST' Perhaps a new title for the @ZoeTheBall Breakfast Show? I mean, whoever wrote that on the BBC earlier today, must have been sniggering to themselves, right?"

A third commented: "I can't be the only one that just spotted the headline 'Ball bags Breakfast'."

Zoe will be the first woman to present the Radio 2 Breakfast Show and will replace long-standing presenter Chris Evans in December after his 13 year stint.

But this isn't the first time she's made history because in 1997 she became the first woman to host the Radio 1 equivalent.

She took to Twitter this morning to announce the exciting news saying: "I'm absolutely cock a hoop to be following in the giant footsteps of Chris Evans as the host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. To be the first woman to present this very special show is both an honour and privilege.

"Believe me, I'm not underestimating the enormity of the task ahead, to follow not one but two of my broadcasting idols, into such a well loved shows is somewhat daunting.

"But I hope, in the same way that Chris made this show his own after taking over from the wonderful Sir Terry Wogan, that with a top team alongside me, I can bring the fabulous Radio 2 audience a show they want to wake up to."

Zoe isn't afraid of a little hard work, for example... a 350 mile bike ride. She completed the gruelling cycle for Sport Relief earlier this year and raised £1,198,000 while doing so.

Hopefully taking over the Breakfast Show will be slightly less exhausting. Congratulations and good luck, Ball (bag)...
