Actor Betty White is 'doing very well' during quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic, which is bloody marvellous news, if you ask me.

The 98-year-old released a statement through her publicist to say she's managing social distancing well and is keeping herself busy, after some fans expressed their concern for White due to the pandemic.

In a statement to Today, White's rep said that 'no one is permitted in [to her home] except those who must', adding that she has 'helpers who are great with her'.

The rep added: "Betty has [a] beautiful backyard with a number of wild animals visiting. Two ducks always come by to say hello. They waddle up to her glass door and look in." Well, that's pretty cute, isn't it?

Meanwhile one of her pals Tom Sullivan told Closer that White passes the time with crosswords puzzles and reading the Los Angeles Times.

He told the news outlet: "She owns literally thousands of crossword puzzle books and is constantly doing them to keep her mind jumping. This is really serious with her."

Another friend told Closer that White had given Zoom a go to play Scrabble with some friends but that it's 'not quite the same'.

However, unlike many of us, White is not turning to booze during lockdown, with the friend adding: "Betty loves to joke that vodka keeps her young. She loves the image of her sitting at home in a rocking chair, drinking a martini and watching game shows, but she's not really a big drinker. That's not her. She'll only take a few sips of a cocktail if the occasion calls for it."

White turned 98 this year and befitting her celebrity lifestyle she was serenaded by not one but two Hollywood stars.

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds both starred alongside White in 2009 rom-com The Proposal and it seems as though the trio hit it off.

In a video, the pair sang happy birthday to the eight-time Emmy award winner - with Reynolds chipping in with a bit of his usual banter.

After Bullock claims to love White more, Reynolds says: "What does Sandy do for you every year?

"Does she like, show up and hand-deliver flowers to you wearing nothing but black socks and a dozen gold bracelets, just like you requested? Doubt it."
