Billie Eilish Responds To Hate She Received From Trolls For Bikini Photo Earlier This Year

"Like, dude. I can’t win. I cannot win."

Billie Eilish has hit back at those who criticised her for a swimsuit post earlier this year, saying she feels she 'can't win'.

Multi-Grammy winner Eilish, 18, is well-known for her unique sense of fashion, often donning baggier, oversized clothing - something she's said is not only related to her own struggles with body dysmorphia, but also to detract from any sexualisation of her body.

But earlier this year, when Eilish posted some Instagram snaps from a holiday in Hawaii with friends, she had the absolute GALL to share a short video of herself in a bikini.

Despite the fact you can only see her head and shoulders in the brief clip, it turns out some people weren't happy with it.

In a new interview with Dazed magazine, Eillish recalled: "It was trending. There were comments like, 'I don't like her anymore because as soon as she turns 18 she's a w***e.' Like, dude. I can't win. I cannot win."

Eilish also remembered the time she wore a tank top (the nerve, I know), adding: "I saw comments like, 'How dare she talk about not wanting to be sexualized and wear this?!'"

She continued: "If I wore a dress to something, I would be hated for it.

"People would be like, 'You've changed, how dare you do what you've always rebelled against?' I'm like, 'I'm not rebelling against anything, really.' I can't stress it enough. I'm just wearing what I wanna wear."

Thankfully, Eilish has been able to ignore the trolls and admitted she's beginning to feel slightly more comfortable with her body at the moment, and is adamant the haters can't take that away from her.

She said: "It's not that I like [my body] now, I just think I'm a bit more OK with it.

"If there's a day when I'm like, 'You know what, I feel comfortable with my belly right now, and I wanna show my belly,' I should be allowed to do that."

Plus, she absolutely bossed her first Grammy Awards ceremony earlier this year, walking away with a total of five accolades - including the four most coveted: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Best New Artist, along with the Best Pop Vocal Album award - so why anyone's still banging on about a two-second clip of her in a bikini is frankly beyond me.
