Britney Spears accidentally burned down her home gym, but says she isn't letting that stop her from working out during lockdown.

The pop star revealed that her gym has been out of action for six months, explaining in a video: "Hi guys, I'm in my gym right now.

"I haven't been in here for like six months because I burned my gym down unfortunately. I had two candles and, yeah, one thing led to another and I burned it down.

"So I'm in here and I only have two pieces of equipment left and I'm going to show you guys what I do during this time."

Probably explains why you never see candles in the gym, eh?

And fair play to her, Britney then took her followers through her quarantine workout, which left me tired just watching, if I'm honest.

In the caption she added: "It was an accident... but yes... I burnt it down. I walked past the door to the gym and flames. BOOM!

"By the Grace of God, the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt.

"Unfortunately, now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym! But it could be much worse so I'm grateful.

"Pssss I like working out better outside anyway!"

Last month Britney hit headlines after she claimed to have run 100 metres in 5.97 seconds, beating current world record holder Usain Bolt.

She told her followers that initially did the '100 metre dash' in nine seconds but had managed to trim that down to a record breaking 5.97 seconds, more than three seconds faster than Bolt.

However, she's since cleared the whole thing up explaining that she was only messing about with her fans when she made the claim.

In a later post to Instagram she wrote: "Obviously I was joking about running the 100 metre dash in 5.97 seconds... the world record is held by Usain Bolt which is 9.58 seconds... but you better believe I'm coming for the world record!"

Well, watch yourself Bolt - she might not have a gym anymore, but she's not going to let that stop her.
