Britney Spears Claims That She Ran 100m In 5.97 Seconds - Beating Usain Bolt's World Record

The pop icon took to Instagram to share news of her '100 meter dash'

Back in 2009, Usain Bolt set the world record for the 100 metre sprint - crossing the finish line in 9.58 seconds. Pretty impressive, right?

The women's world record for the same distance was set way back in 1988 by an American called Florence Griffith-Joyner. She completed the stint in 10.49 seconds.

Now, there's a new sheriff in town. She goes by the name Britney (b**ch - optional addition) and she claims that she can run 100 metres in 5.97 seconds. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you - that's an incredible 3.61 seconds faster than Mr Bolt.

Breaking down the numbers to her Instagram followers, she explained that she initially did the '100 meter dash' in nine seconds (impressive, for a first attempt, I'll be honest).

Then it seems that the numbers only got better but you might be thinking what's her secret?! Well, straight from the horses mouth, we can tell you that 'getting over your fear is key'. Simple as that, it seems.

Now, call us pessimists but something tells us that she's got her numbers a little muddled up. We're not the only ones either, her fans have also been left puzzled.

Replying to her post, one said: "Is your distance correct? Lol Usain Bolts world record time for 100m dash is 9.58 seconds."

Another added: "How far did you run I am confused Britney explain," while a third had all the faith in the world, commenting: "Fastest person to ever live."

Give the athlete a break, guys.

Trying to explain the mistake she was making (if any), someone wrote: "I'm confused! 100 meter dash? You mean 50 meter dash? Or 40 yard dash? Something ain't adding up. Sorry for being lost." IT WAS 100 METRES.

If this hasn't given you isolation inspiration (back garden size depending) then maybe LADbible's new Facebook group might.
