Stephanie Beatriz has made a name for herself for playing Detective Rosa Diaz in the hilarious sitcom Brooklyn 99.

But she could be about to be cast in the role of a lifetime and make her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When Disney+ announced She-Hulk, the cousin of the Incredible Hulk, was getting its own TV show, many people pointed towards Beatriz to play the character.

The actor has since responded to the fanfare, admitting that she would absolutely, 100 per cent, unequivocally take the job if it was offered to her.

Speaking to ET, Beatriz said: "I would die to play that role. That is so flattering. That is one of the best characters in that universe.

"I definitely have upped my workouts since reading some of those things.

"But also, [I think it would] be really exciting for fans to see some of these characters that we kind of decided are one thing, to sort of be imagined in a different way."

She-Hulk debuted in 1980 thanks to writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema. It follows the story of Jennifer Walters, who is cousins with the incredible Bruce Banner.

After Banner first becomes the Hulk, he goes to Walters to explain what the hell just happened, however finds out she has been shot by a crime boss who was after her father.

With no one able to help her out medically, Banner gives over his blood because they're a perfect match.

It was during this procedure that Banner inadvertently gave some of his powers to his cousin. She doesn't become as powerful as the Incredible Hulk, but she's not far off.

The only difference between her and her more famous cousin is that she is able to retain her intelligence when she assumes her green form, compared to Bruce who just becomes an angry and unstoppable force.

Jennifer makes the tough decision, as Bruce did in Avengers: Endgame to permanently remain as She-Hulk because she prefers 'the freedom, confidence, and assertiveness that it gave her compared to her more timorous and fragile "normal" form'.

She-Hulk has been in the Avengers crew, Fantastic Four and Heroes for Hire, the Defenders, Fantastic Force and S.H.I.E.L.D.

Incredibly, while she was saving the world, she was also keeping up her full-time regular job as a lawyer and even served as legal counsel to some superheroes when they had their day in court.
