Candace Cameron Bure has apologised to her followers after sharing a 'sexy' TikTok video in which she held a Bible. You can see the clip here:

The actor shared a clip of herself lip-syncing to 'Jealous Girl' by Lana Del Rey, while dancing around and holding a Bible.

She captioned the video: "When they don't know the power of the Holy Spirit."

However, the post came in for some criticism from her fans, who thought dancing about like that while clutching the holy book was a bit inappropriate.

In response, Cameron Bure - a Christian - apologised for any offense caused.

After deleting the same clip from her Instagram, the 45-year-old took to Instagram Stories to say sorry.

She said: "I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video.

"And I usually don't apologise for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird and I'm sorry. That was not my intention.

"I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible.

"So many of you thought I was trying to be seductive, which clearly means I'm not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong, not sexy.

"So I guess that didn't work, but I deleted it."

She went on to explain that her daughter Natasha had shared a similar clip and had decided to do her own version.

She added: "Maybe I was just trying to be too cool or relevant in a Biblical way that didn't work.

"Anyway, most of you didn't like it, clearly, but there was a small percentage of you that appreciated what I did and understood my intention.

"But anyway, it's gone. Now I know what you don't like."

Cameron Bure has previously spoken about how her faith plays a large part in her life.

In an interview with Fox, she said: "It's so important to me, and it's always a part of me, whether it's at home and privately, or when I'm reading the Bible in Bible study.

"But also at work, and the choices I make within work, and the companies I choose to work with and the projects that I choose to take on."
