Charlize Theron managed to accidentally flash her pals while energetically celebrating her nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award.

The South African actor has been nominated for Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture (co-stars Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman received supporting actress nominations) for her latest flick Bombshell.

Theron learnt of her nominations while she was at home with some friends and shared a clip of the happy moment on her Twitter account.

When Theron got the good news, she began to jump about - the clip then cuts to a rainbow screen, before it picks back up with the star hastily pulling her gown around her. Whoops.

Still, she doesn't let the slip ruin her mood and she continues to excitedly celebrate along with her pooch, who seems to be just as happy about the whole situation.

Sharing the clip, Theron wrote: "Whoops. Got a bit too excited about the #SAGAwards nomination for our #BombshellMovie cast... CONGRATS ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL HUMANS!!! So grateful to have gone on this journey with you all."

Her followers were quick to congratulate the star on her nominations, with Bombshell co-star Spencer Garrett writing: "Congrats! You're absolutely extraordinary in the film, Charlize. Brilliant work from you all. Hannity."

And the official Bombshell account responding: "THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF EXCITEMENT!!"

But her little slip-up didn't go unnoticed, actor Rob Delaney wrote: "Your vagina fell out?!"

Bombshell tells the true story of a group of female Fox News employees who set about exposing CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment.

It's been nominated for four SAG Awards in total, with co-stars Robbie and Kidman both earning nominations for Female Actor in a Supporting Role.

The movie earned the same number of nominations as Netflix's The Irishman and more than Marriage Story, which picked up three nominations.

Theron has received an impressive six nominations for SAG Awards over the years and won one in 2004 for Female Actor in a Leading Role for her portray of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster.
