Remember Monica's turkey dance from Friends? Of course you do - Courteney Cox recreated the moment in all its glory just last month. Well, now she's posted a new behind-the-scenes video to reveal how she did it, and this too is pretty memorable. Watch below:

The clip, originally posted to Instagram, shows the 56-year-old actor with plastic over her head (don't try this at home, kids) while she attempts to fit a raw turkey over her face.

The new video is captioned 'the (gross) truth', and you can hear her describing the process as 'so f***ing gross'.

In another part she tries to pull the skin of the bird over her face and says: "That bone hurts... it really hurts."

Struggling to get the bird into position (and comfortably placed on her noggin), she goes on to add: "It's so disgusting."

Replying to the video, one person wrote: "I Can Not Court!!! Don't you know you are not suppose to put plastic on your face??"

Courteney responded to reassure fans that she had taken precautions, writing: "I poked a hole so I could breathe but let's face it....nothing could be more disgusting."

Another person dubbed the video the 'most amazing behind the scenes' they'd ever seen, while co-star Lisa Kudrow (who plays Phoebe Buffay) said: "What did you DO?! You are TOUGH AND GENEROUS."

Another person wrote: "I'm impressed by your commitment to the craft of making people laugh."

Courteney originally posted her recreation of the Friends scene on 27 November. You can watch that back here:

In the video she said: "Happy Thanksgiving everyone, hope you're having a great day. I'm feeling so thankful. And also, if I get one more goddamn gif with that turkey on my head dancing like a f***ing fool I'm gonna snap.

"So anyway, since I'm the symbol of Thanksgiving, here you go, hope it makes you happy."

She then jigs away with a raw sunglasses-wearing turkey on her head, with the Friends theme music ('I'll Be There For You' by The Rembrandts) playing in the background.

Safe to say, the clip did make a lot of people happy, having been viewed more than 5.7 million times.

Solid effort that.

This is presumably only the second time Cox has had a raw turkey on her bonce.

The first time was also in an attempt to spread some joy, on that occasion in the fictional world of Friends, with her efforts prompting Chandler to declare his love for her.
