With Harry Potter and the Cursed Child previews in full swing, you'd expect that the original cast would've had VIP seats at the premiere, right? WRONG.

Harry Potter (aka Daniel Radcliffe), has revealed that he won't be going to see the play any time soon.

He appeared on US hit talk show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, on Tuesday night. When asked if he's seen it, he said: "I feel like I want to see the show. I am genuinely intrigued and I've heard it's fantastic.

"But I just feel sitting in an audience of what will for the most of the near future be very enthusiastic Harry Potter fans might be like not a relaxing way to see a show."

This isn't the first time he's mentioned that he's worried about sitting with fans. He told E! News: "It would be a weird one. I could be completely wrong in this, but I feel like if I went to see it that night, there's going to be a lot of Harry Potter fans there in the audience obviously and would that then become a thing?

"Would it be more about them watching me watch the show or would it take away from the show?

"I would never want to do anything that would distract or take away from the show."

To be fair, he's got a point. The Harry Potter fandom is massive.

The two-part West End play opened its doors on 7 June, 2016, with previews at Palace Theatre, London. The play will officially open on 30 July, 2016. The story is set 19 years after the very end of the final book, and follows the story of Harry (as a Ministry of Magic employee) and his son, Albus.

The play's official synopsis was released on 23 October, 2015. It reads:

"It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

"While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

If you don't manage to get tickets to the play, the scriptbook is coming out on 31 July this year.
