Duane 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Chapman has responded to rumours that he's dating his son's ex. He has said there will 'never be another Mrs Dog', but admitting he has been in need of companionship since his wife's death last year.

Duane's daughter Lyssa Chapman publicly claimed he had started a relationship with a woman called Moon Angell, the former assistant of his late wife Beth, who Lyssa claims was formerly in a relationship with one of Duane's sons.

Lyssa wrote on Twitter: "If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your stepmom died what would you do?

"If you went to your mother's closet and saw she moved all her clothes and replaced them with her own, what would you do?

"My dad is a GROWN A** MAN. His money. His dynasty. But you can guarantee that my name is not going down in history as a person who supported this."

When one Twitter user pointed out that maybe Duane has just moved on, and that perhaps he's entitled to do so, Lyssa replied: "It's not when or why it's who."

Duane has now responded to his daughter's claims, having told Radar: "Moon has been a trustworthy and loyal friend to me for over 20 years.

"She has been with my family through many ups and downs."

He added: "All my children are grown and gone on their own, there's no one left to help me!

"Moon is experienced. It's just that. Who knows what my future holds, but right now I need her.

"There will never be another Mrs Dog, but that doesn't mean I have to be so sad."

Duane has previously said he's been suffering with mental health issues since Beth's passing.

On an episode of Dog's Most Wanted, he said: "I just hope that I don't live very much longer without her."

Saying that, even if he does find someone else, he'll never marry again, Dog continued: "What deal we said is I will never take 'Beth' off my chest, I have her name here. And I will never get married.

"And she said to me, 'We are human, okay?' And probably the same thing I'd say to her: 'I know you're gonna have a boyfriend, I hope you have 10, but don't go fricking marry one, and say those words. Don't you dare do that.'

"I would say that, and she did say that to me."
