Joe Rogan has revealed that Tesla and SpaceX boss Elon Musk is back in the hotseat for a new episode of his podcast, which drops today.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Rogan shared a photo of Musk brandishing his samurai sword in front of the Joe Rogan Experience American flag and animal skull, writing: "Round 2 with the super genius! Elon Musk podcast drops tomorrow at 9am PST! Rejoice!!"

Musk first appeared on the podcast back in September 2018, when he famously smoked weed mid-interview.

During the two-and-a-half hour chat, Rogan and Musk covered everything from flamethrowers to the end of the universe, but the most interesting moment came when the entrepreneur was offered a large joint.

Musk admitted that he wasn't a 'regular smoker of weed' but host Rogan said the combination of tobacco and marijuana was 'wonderful'.

Of course, since then a lot has happened in the weird and wonderful world of Elon Musk - not least the birth of his son earlier this week.

Listeners will no doubt be hoping that Rogan quizzes the tech mogul on the bizarre name given to the child: X Æ A-12.

Musk's partner Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, confirmed the name on Twitter, offering up something of an explanation.

The 32-year-old said: "X, the unknown variable.

, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence).

"A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defences, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent.

"(A=Archangel, my favorite song)."

But we're still all a little confused about the unorthodox name choice, so any detail Rogan might be able to extract from Musk would be welcomed, I'm sure.

Mind you, what's arguably most important is that the new family are all doing okay, which thankfully seems to be the case.

Announcing the birth on Twitter, Musk said mum and baby were 'all good', before sharing a couple of photos of his son - one of which featured a surreal tattoo filter on the baby's face, while the second showed Musk holding his new child.
