Actor Antonio Banderas rocked up the red-carpet looking very different after shaving off his hair and eyebrows to play the role of artist Pablo Picasso.

The 57-year-old looked happy enough as he walked the red carpet with his girlfriend Nicole Kemple, 37, while in Spain last week.

Sporting a look that is usually the result of falling asleep first at a house party, Banderas was also joined by his beautiful partner's twin.

Banderas is playing the artist in the series Genius: Pablo Picasso. He revealed his striking new look at a recent photocall in Madrid, after which he shared a photo of himself with his fans on Twitter.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: "Greetings from The Westin Palace, Madrid. Today we present Genius: Picasso to the press."

Banderas plays the role of Picasso from his 40s onwards, with fellow actor Alex Rich portraying the younger years.

The 10-part show will premier on 24 April on the National Geographic It comes following the huge success of the first series of Genius, which depicted the life of scientist Albert Einstein.

The show had the channel's highest ever ratings and as well as receiving adoring reviews from and and critics, it was also nominated for an impressive 10 Emmy awards.

The second series will be hoping to emulate the success of the first, which had over 45 million viewers worldwide.

This is the actor's first role since he revealed he had a heart attack in January - he has since been fitted with three stents to help open up his arteries.

He said: "I suffered a heart attack on January 26. It was a benign attack, it hasn't caused any permanent damage and now I'm in a recovery period.

"It's something that happens every day to a lot of people. I didn't hide it, but I didn't want it to receive more importance than those suffered by other people.'"

It's good to see the actor back on his feet - with or without eyebrows.
