It's been nearly five years since we said goodbye to Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Skylar, Hank and Saul and rest of the Breaking Bad crew. While we were sad to see the incredible AMC show end, we realised that all good things have to come to a close eventually.

Thankfully there was the Better Call Saul spin-off involving Walt's dodgy lawyer Saul Goodman, which included some of the best characters from the former show. But could they add Jesse Pinkman aka Aaron Paul to their line-up?

The American actor has posted a photo to Instagram, showing him at an AMC Network building, with the caption saying: "Good morning old friend."

Naturally, it sent fans into a bit of a frenzy.

What does this mean? Could Aaron Paul be making an appearance on Better Call Saul?

The spin-off show has characters like Gus Fring and Tuco Salamanca, so why not Jesse Pinkman? Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan told Digital Spy: "You never know if that character may get revisited in the future. Anything's possible."

Paul has said in the past that he's very keen to reprise the role that catapulted him into stardom.

"Hopefully I will be involved," he told Variety in 2016. "But I don't know when that may be. I'm not going to say anything more. But I'm absolutely open to the idea. Hopefully it happens. I'm all about it.

"If I were to be involved, I can promise that it would be done in the most beautiful way. Because there's no way they're going to bring Jesse Pinkman back just to bring him back.

"They're going to bring him back and the audience is going to be very excited not just to see him, but to see how it all unfolded."

He's of course referring to what happened to Pinkman at the end of Breaking Bad. While justice finally caught up with Walt, the door was left very open for Jesse's future.

Gilligan has never said what happened to Paul's character, but he has said what he would have liked for Jesse: "I personally would like to think he got away, because he paid his dues tenfold. I like to believe he got away.

"I don't really know in terms of what he should be doing as a career. I just hope he would get away, and meet somebody nice, and not be a criminal anymore."

We'll have to keep our eyes peeled for Better Call Saul season four to see if Mr 'Science Bitch' makes a return.
