Marvel Actor Claims Hugh Jackman Has Been Pondering A Wolverine Return

While he insisted he hanged up the claws in 'Logan', Hugh Jackman has reportedly been thinking about Wolverine...

Floyd Mayweather announced his retirement (twice), but then came out of the shadows for two more matches. Paul Scholes left Manchester United after losing to Barcelona in 2011 but returned a year later. Jay-Z said The Black Album was his last ever recording, but we all know it most certainly wasn't.

What's my point in all this?

Well, just because someone hangs up their boots, gloves, microphones or whatever, it doesn't 100 percent mean they are gone for good.

It was bittersweet when Hugh Jackman bid farewell to the infamous Marvel superhero Wolverine last year in the critically acclaimed Logan. The clawed outlaw was killed for good in the film and we all had to come to terms with the idea that we wouldn't see him again.

Or so we thought.

Sebastian Stan, the bloke who has played Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier in three Captain America films, has revealed an interesting conversation he had with Hugh Jackman.

At the Ace Comic Con panel with Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, Stan told the crowd: "Recently I happened to be sitting next to Hugh Jackman.

"I didn't know what other awkward thing I could talk about but to be like, 'Am I going to see you soon?'

"I don't know. But he said a couple of things to me and I'll just leave it at that. Otherwise, I feel like I'm going to get into trouble with somebody."

How very intriguing.

The superhero actor added: "I asked him because I kept thinking he said whether or not that was, Logan, was supposed to be the last Wolverine thing or whatever and he said to me, well I think he publicly said out there, which was like he's been thinking about it and it's been on his mind."

Jackman was pretty insistent that he was done with Wolverine when last year's movie came out. However, the recent deal for Disney to buy assets belonging to 20th Century Fox, could have changed his mind.

Speaking to Collider, the Aussie actor said: "I would love to see, particularly, Iron Man and the Hulk and Wolverine together. And every time I saw an Avengers movie I could just see Wolverine in the middle of all of them like punching them all on the head.

"But I think, unfortunately, the ship has sailed for me, but for someone else I would like to see Wolverine in there."

It would be pretty tough to imagine someone else playing Wolverine, but if the deal is just right, they might be able to lure Hugh out of retirement.
