One of the most iconic scenes from The 40-Year-Old Virgin is undoubtedly when Steve Carell gets his chest waxed by a supremely sadistic beautician. It's hilarious for a few reasons, mainly watching the protagonist scream in pain with each wax strip, however the phrases he mutters to 'ease the pain' are equally as funny as they are random.

Among screaming out, 'you fucker', 'cocksucker', 'fuck me in the asshole' and 'sweaty pie hole', he strangely yelled Kelly Clarkson's name. Who the hell knows why that singer's name came to his head at that particular time, but nevertheless it was etched into movie scene history.
You'd think after the movie aired, Kelly would have messaged Steve (because everyone in Hollywood knows each other of course) and asked for an explanation.
However, the two only met for the first time at this year's Golden Globes.
The actor tweeted a picture of them all dressed up with the simple caption of 'Finally'. Thousands of people have appropriately commented on the picture with GIFs and memes of that famous scene.
Kelly retweeted the image, saying: "One of my favourite moments of my life! I love you and your lovely wife!"
The 35-year-old hasn't been shy about wanting to meet the bloke who screamed her name while getting his chest waxed during a film.

Speaking to Today in November last year, Kelly said: "I've yet to meet Steve Carell and I want to be like, 'So was it a compliment?'.
"I do feel gypped though, because I've never met him, and I'm a huge fan. It was kind of a pop culture moment and I haven't even met him."
Kelly says the first time she saw the scene was during a preview of the film at a cinema. However, because she was late to her seat, she thought it was someone in the audience yelling it out, rather than Steve Carell.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Steve revealed that the woman who was ripping off his chest hair with such delight actually had virtually zero training in waxing.

She reportedly lied on her application and later said she had tried it once on her boyfriend's back hair. While that is pretty decent banter, she nearly seriously hurt Carell because she didn't put Vaseline on his nipple.
When waxing over that sensitive area, it's essential to apply the jelly-based cream because the nipple can be ripped off. The cast and crew cut the scene only once because she was about pull the strip.
Carell told the crowd that thankfully he still has two functioning nipples.
