Sylvester Stallone And Dolph Lundgren Reunite And They're All Smiles...For Now

The fourth instalment to the Rocky franchise was pretty bloody important considering it premiered during the Cold War. Rocky Balboa (America) fought Ivan Drago (Russia) and although Sylvester Stallone's character eventually beat the shit out of Dolph Lundgren, he gave a rousing speech about how the two countries should try to like each other.

It was kind of like the 1985 version of Kendal Jenner's Pepsi can advert.

However, at the end of the movie, Drago and Balboa seemed to have finally put their animosity aside and became semi-mates. Well, more than 30 years later, they appear to still be kind of friends after Stallone uploaded a picture on Instagram.

Stallone wrote: "Shooting a commercial with Dolph today... Getting ready for working with the big man in CREED 2."

If you've been living under a rock then you might be unaware that the two will be reprising their famous roles for the sequel to Creed - which is meant to be our generation's Rocky. But not only will they be standing in sidelines, cheering on their respective fighters, they'll actually get a shot at each other as well.

TMZ Sports approached Sly in August asking him what sort of shit would be going down, and the 71-year-old wasn't shy when answering."It wouldn't be a party without Drago, would it?" Stallone said. "I'm gonna punch him. You know I gotta hit Drago once."

The film is expected to premiere next year in mid-November and fans are still trying to work out what it's going to be about. The synopsis online is pretty clear: "Adonis Creed tries to seek revenge when he goes toe to toe with the man who killed his father."

But while that person who killed Apollo is definitely Drago, he's no spring chicken, so it'll be interesting to see whether the two will actually go 'toe to toe'.

Dolph has been keeping everyone updated with his fitness regime and how hench he's getting for the role, so who knows, he might actually don the gold and red boxing shorts again for a proper fight.

One person has put his hand up to play Drago's son, MMA fighter Sage Northcutt.

He told MMAFighting.com: "The new Creed 2 movie is coming out so I was actually going to audition for that.

"Got a little audition tape so hopefully that goes through. That would be pretty neat. Being Ivan Drago's son in the movie? That would be pretty fun."

The movie has been plagued with a few off-screen issues, with Stallone having to step down as director, with Steven Caple Jr taking over.

It seems like an amicable decision, as Syl wrote on Instgram: "We are extremely lucky to have the talented young filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. step up and accept the role of director. I am confident that he and Michael B. Jordan will hit it out of the park!"

Only time will tell if it becomes as good as the first Creed and whether it lives up to the same hype as Rocky did.
