Comedian Iain Lee might have been late in joining the I'm a Celebrity jungle, but he has still managed to have his fair share of drama.

His somewhat erratic behaviour has sparked concerns among viewers and claims have been made that the radio presenter is being buillied by his campmates.

In his reveal interview, Iain admitted that he had no survival skills whatsoever and that he had no idea why he was going into the jungle. It all sounded quite funny and a bit of a laugh, but it turns out that the reason behind his jungle stint is actually really sad.

According to the Sun, Iain signed up to the show in order to pay for his sick mum's care home fees. Iain's 66-year-old mum has MS and her care fees reportedly cost an eye-watering £1,500. Crikey. The costs have apparently been burning through Iain's life-savings, prompting him to sign up for the show for a bit of extra cash.

Iain admitted that the family cannot afford to keep his mum, who cannot walk, talk or feed herself, in the facility she is currently in. He said: "We can't afford to keep her there. It's very upsetting." How sad.

A source close to the comedian told the Sun: "His mum's care home costs are a great concern for Iain.

"He'll be able to use a proportion of his jungle fee to stabilise the situation.

"He's made no secret of the fact he can't wait to get home to his boys but knowing the money will be a huge help to his mum is stopping him from walking out."

This comes after viewers express their concerns over Iain's own health:

Poor Iain, he's having a really hard time of it all, isn't he.
