Frankie Muniz Has Been Up To Quite A Lot Since 'Malcolm In The Middle'

Happy birthday.

For many of us our childhood was made that little bit better by Malcolm in the Middle.

It was before Bryan Cranston was Heisenberg, and well before Frankie Muniz's acting career became less of a priority in order for him to focus on other career paths.

First and foremost he dedicated more time to writing and producing. However, being a big petrol head, in 2006 the actor signed a two year contract with Jensen Motorsport. A year after that, and after the show that made him famous finished, he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, so he could further his career as a driver.

When his contract with Jensen Motorsport expired, he jumped ship to Pacific Coast Motorsports, and while there he won the Jovy Marcelo award, an accolade bestowed upon the driver who best exemplifies the sportsmanship spirit of Marcelo, a driver who died after a motoring accident in 1992.

31-year-old Frankie certainly excelled on the driving circuit, finishing in the top 10 for each race he took part in during the 2009 season. However, racing wasn't the only passion he had away from acting, and he joined the band Kingsfoil as their drummer in 2012.

Unfortunately, two years after joining the alternative-rock group, he called it quits due to scheduling issues and two transient ischemic attacks.

His film and television work has been rather sparse since the end of Malcolm in the Middle, and well under the radar. In the next year or so he's set to appear in four films, Road to Capri, Hot Bath an' a Stiff Drink 2, Another Day in Paradise and The Black String.
